Our story moves to the Pavlograd hussars, a regiment of light cavalry stationed near the main army at Braunau. Time to mean a new main character: Nikolai’s captain, the red-faced Denisov with sparkling eyes and an endearing lisp. Lieutenant Telyanin steals Denisov’s purse, and Rostov handles the situation the only way he knows how. Badly.
More characters? Oh no! Don't fret. The only new character you need to pay attention to is Denisov.
