Jean-Marie Collot d'Herbois is a playwright and actor who joins the Jacobins. Collot’s opinions become more radical over the course of the revolution. When he becomes deputy for Paris at the National Convention he sits at the extreme left along with his friend and ally Billaud-Varennes. The two are both made members of the Committee of Public Safety during the Terror.
