Maximilien de Robespierre is a lawyer from Arras. He is elected deputy for the Third Estate and becomes a radical Jacobin leader and heads the left-wing faction The Mountain at the National Convention. Later a member of the Committee for Public Safety, he is one of the most influential and controversial figures of the Terror. He is a friend of Camille Desmoulins from their schooldays.
