Simon, I’m struck at every turn by how much work has gone into both the setting up and maintenance of this brilliant project. (And I’m also mindful of the fact that you’ve two of these slow reads happening at the same time and a busy life besides.) I’m so grateful. What an outstanding first week it has been!
My favorite character has been Pierre ever since I first read W&P when I was 16. Now, at age 73, I can sense his irresponsibility, and yet I would still choose to be his “friend.”
Although his innocence will soon be challenged, I feel he and Natasha weave the plot together: the glue to all of its historical typhoons. Thank you for this idea and the opportunity to relive a classic! Tom

Hope you are getting as much out of this slow read as the rest of us. It is an amazing community. Thank you for doing this.
I am, I think. As well as the satisfaction of knowing people are getting so much from it. Thanks!
