Simon, this is awesome. I just downloaded the app. I think The Metamorphosis is almost everyone's introduction to Kafka, and with good reason. It's an amazing story and reflection on human character. When I studied in Germany, I took a course devoted exclusively to Kafka and we read almost everything. One of my favorites is The Castle -- another of K's lessons in futility -- which is really neat because you can just imagine Kafka, whose tiny row house was so close to the castle in Prague, and wonder how far away from it he might have felt.
I look forward to this and other classics. As for Tolstoy, I have to agree, and so I will give it a try.
On a non-related note, I love the way you embed previous posts at the bottom. I've been doing that with links, but what you've done is great.
Oh fantastic! To be honest, you probably learned more than me. I am a freewheeling amateur literature student. My background is sociology not literature. But I hope that gives my work a refreshingly non-jargon twist. 🤔
I want to do more Tolstoy as some point. Currently working on Lewis Carroll, which makes a nice break from hard existential angst.
As for the links, there seems to much to learn and try out on this platform. It's years since I've come across a space online this customizable. I'm enjoying exploring.
It's definitely worth checking out! The library is growing all the time. And given the amount of work that goes into the notes, it is excellent value for money.
Note to self: Get Audrey.
Likewise
Recommended. Obviously.
I have loved my experience with Audrey and share that enthusiasm with others. 👍👍
Thanks Kelly! That's awesome.
Oh this sounds really great! I will for sure check out the app :)
It's a fabulous resource! Hope you enjoy it.
This sound fantastic! Heading over to the app now to investigate.
Brilliant! I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think.
Wow just checked out the app (finally) and was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the books+guides are, and looks like really nice stuff!
Right! For the amount of thought and insight that goes into them, they are incredibly good value!
Looking into Audrey now. Thank you! And I have always been so intrigued by this Kafka story. 💛
Hope you get something from both. 🌠

Oooh, I'm intrigued! Echoing earlier comment with Note to Self 😁
