Louis-Marie Stanislas Fréron is born to a wealthy family in Paris; his father is a prominent journalist. A journalist and revolutionary, Fréron often works alongside his school friend Camille Desmoulins on radical newspapers and becomes a close associate of Georges-Jacques Danton. He will be elected as representative to the Paris Commune and then to the National Convention.
