This will be my sixth book with footnotes and tangents. I am amazed at the observations that authors make about the human qualities that seem to be almost constant across the times we have read about. Conflict, cooperation, basic needs, tribalism, love, ambition, the ability to recover, and war seem to be capacities that are written in our genetic code. Reading about these characters who embody and express the code is an education and a joy. Looking forward to meeting the Neanderthals! Four percent of our code.
Have my copy from the library so going to give this a go, not sure the book is my cup of tea but that's all part of the fun!
