François Robert
A lecturer in law: marries Louise de Kéralio, opens a delicatessen, becomes a radical journalist
François Robert is an impoverished lecturer in law who opens a delicatessen in Paris with his beloved wife Louise. They run a radical newspaper, Mercure Nationale. François is Georges-Jacques Danton’s neighbour and loyal partisan. Elected as deputy to the National Convention, he sits with the Mountain. He is a founder and later president of the Cordeliers Club.
