Louise de Kéralio

A novelist: who goes to Paris, marries François Robert and edits a newspaper

Louise de Kéralio is a writer, historian and translator born into nobility and brought up in Artois. She meets Robespierre at the Academy of Arras and later marries François Robert against her family’s wishes. The Roberts move to Paris where they run a delicatessen and become friends with Georges-Jacques Danton and Camille Desmoulins. Louise edits a political journal and becomes a member of the Cordeliers club.
